2025 Equinox EV Review

The New 2025 Chevrolet Equinox electric SUV is one of the best examples of how well Chevy has executed its electric vehicle strategy. It offers consumers a long-range, affordable electric car in the SUV body they love. And that’s a big deal, as it removes one of the biggest barriers to mass-market EV adoption.

The electric version of the Equinox has a very similar look to its gasoline-powered counterpart, but a pair of digital displays take center stage in place of the traditional instrument cluster. The smaller unit behind the steering wheel serves as a gauge display, while the larger 17.7-inch unit houses the infotainment system. While the system doesn’t offer Apple CarPlay or Android Auto smartphone mirroring, it still works relatively well and provides easy access to apps like Spotify.

We didn’t perform our standard acceleration and braking tests on the Equinox EV, but based on our experience with other front-wheel drive EVs of this size, we expect it to be in the middle of the pack. With the rear seat stowed, cargo space is rated at 57 cubic feet.

2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV: Features, Specs & Performance Overview

The LT base model starts at just under $35,000 before federal incentives, making it one of the more affordable EVs on the market. The RS, which is around $10,000 more expensive, adds a few desirable convenience and tech features. A 11.5 kW AC onboard charger can charge the Equinox EV to about 80% in a bit over 30 minutes. It also can take advantage of lower-power 350 kilowatt DC fast chargers, but it will take longer to reach full capacity on those.
